Sun Wolf just can't get a break. Banished from Mandrigyn— for doing exactly wht they'd hired him to do— and newly a wizard, Sun Wolf is faced with the problem of finding a teacher in a land where any obvious wizards were killed long ago. So when he finds someone who claims to know magic in Wenshar, it looks like a good thing... except that he suspects she is playing with something she knows little about, especially since the evil of the Wenshar Witches is legendary even today.

And then, of course, people start dying. And Sun Wolf begins to suspect demons unlike any he's even considered, demons that can kill...
