Rating:

Fiction, Mystery/Thriller

Judging from the Amazon review, this is a love-it or hate-it kind of book. First of all, you have the premise inherent in most Hooper novels, the unfocused psychic abilities of one or more of the characters. Then you have the total amnesia of the character coming out of a coma, the one who has some connection to a missing reporter. And finally, you have a central character who is either endearing or totally annoying, depending on who you ask.

Personally, I like these books. They are fast-paced, and though they may have implausible turns of event, it's a thriller, they're supposed to do that. More importantly, she manages in this book to surprise me entirely at the end with something I didn't even bother to consider. That's always a plus when speaking of mysteries.
